Hello. My name is Suzanne Rougé, and I am writing you today to make you aware of a class I am offering for people who have diabetic neuropathy. I have been a teacher since 1983, engaging with a variety of contexts and content. After leaving the public school setting, I became a certified reflexologist. I have helped edit a textbook for McGraw Hill:Practical Reflexology by Watson-Vone. I also taught reflexology for US Careers Institute and created a beautifully illustrated reflexology chart. I have been in private practice since 2004 experiencing many different medical conditions. I find that my gifts and interests are best suited to the diabetic community. Although reflexology is considered an alternative medicine, I like to think of it as complementary care. Part of a synergistic program to address the whole person and how each aspect has an effect on the whole system. Reflexology is a five thousand year old practice with the oldest documentation unearthed in Egypt through pictographs dated around 2500-2330 BC. You can find out more information about how and why it works by visiting the reflexology page on my web site. I have a few articles there and some photos of a man who suffered from diabetes, gout and high blood pressure. I was able to address all three aspects in every session with reflexology techniques and essential oils. I was utterly amazed at our first session and brought my camera for our second one. The photographs document the change within an hour. The results are immediate and over the long run, with daily care, quite successful in addressing the pain of neuropathy. http://www.hummingbirdhorizons.com/Reflexology.htm Self care is the primary focus of the two hour workshop I offer. Most of the moves can be done by the individual with diabetes. It is specifically designed to address the synergistic nature of diabetes as it relates to addressing, or preventing neuropathy. Reflexology is not massage, it is acupressure based on the meridian points of Chinese Medicine. It optimizes health without the fear or pain of needles. By making contact with these trigger points, the body is brought into balance. It stimulates the pancreas and liver and helps in maintaining blood sugar level, reduces blood sugar fluctuations and minimizes complications. “Circulation is life, stagnation is death.” It is vitally important for the diabetic population to maintain good blood flow. The curriculum I have developed is also designed to teach loved ones how to assist with circulation moves. These are very difficult for a person to administer by themselves. Having a partner, friend or child to assist is necessary for offsetting the debilitating effects of poor circulation caused by nerve damage. Reflexology is folk medicine and can be done by anyone. It induces deep relaxation that can lead to homeostasis. Relieving tension slows the deterioration and can address depression and other emotional aspects that diabetics deal with daily. The session I teach takes 20-30 minutes and is very simple to learn. It can truly make the difference in loosing appendages or keeping them vitally alive. My intention is to make this information affordable, easy to understand and implement. I charge $20 for the class.( This price covers either one or two people.) In addition, people can purchase a reflexology chart that I created for $10.00 and essential oil blends that address the issues that diabetes presents for $ 50. I am excited about sharing this modality with your clients. My goal is to empower people to take preventative measures and feel like they can do something about their situation. The immediate relief serves as motivation to practice self-care. I am traveling to support centers all over Colorado and beyond. Please contact me via the information below so that I can speak with you further and answer any questions you may have. I look forward to working with you and inspiring your clients to optimize their health! Suzanne Rouge 970-308-1415 email hummingbirdsuz@yahoo.com 2407 W. Stuart St. Fort Collins, Colorado 80526
